Kaufmann who, 10 years earlier, had built Fallingwater together with Frank
Lloyd Wright. He was so disappointed by the weakness of Neutra that he called
the house the Kaufman Residence and didn’t allow Neutra to publish the house
for quite some years. Kaufman published it first under his own name. Despite
Kaufmann’s discontent the house soon became a modernist icon photographed by
