OfHouses presents “Pritzkers’ First Houses, part V”: Hans Hollein (Pritzker 1985) didn’t built any house, so we jump directly to Richard Meier’s (Pritzker 1984) first one: a little prefab wooden box on the beaches of fire island, the Lambert house is the only design by Meier which is not painted white. Or was… Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft bought the house, added a hideous second floor with a pitched roof and put shingles on the facades… (Photos: © Richard Meier.)
