Frei Otto, Rob Krier, Leonberg-Warmbronn, Germany, 1967-1969

OfHouses presents “Pritzkers’ First Houses”: Frei Otto (Pritzker 2015) designed his first house when he was 26 years old – the Erika & Heinz Mrosek Residence was built between 1951-54 in Bremerhaven-Lehe, Germany. Because we were not able to find any photographs of the Mrosek House (reportedly severely modified during construction), we present you the second residence designed by Otto (with the help of a freshly graduated Rob Krier): the house & atelier Otto built for himself in Warmbronn, near Stutgartt, in 1969.
