Ferdinando Sanfelice, Napoli, Italy, 1724-26
OfHouses guest curated by Studiospazio : ”The building faces a narrow street, where it is difficult to perceive the facade in its entirety. The magnificent stairs on the back-wall of the courtyard served as a representation of the bourgeoisie life of the baroque period and appear as the main facade of the building. The courtyard is perceived as an extension of the street and becomes the most public space of the house.” (Photo: © Anthony Blunt, Tim Benton, Csaba Tarsoly, Sue Barr, Pietro Pirozzi, Giovanni Viggiano.
