Alvaro Siza, Matosinhos, Porto, Portugal, 1954-1957
OfHouses presents “Pritzkers’ First Houses, part III”: Álvaro Siza Vieira (Pritzker 1992) designed the four houses in Matosinhos when he was 21 years old. Incredible as it may seem, these were not Siza’s first built works: he had already completed some interior refurbishments (see the renovation of his grandmother’s kitchen , already published on OfHouses) as well as a garden pavilion for his parents house, designed when he was only 16!
